Why SickKids?
Monkeyboy Comedy was founded by Toronto comic and showrunner Todd Downey, who knows firsthand what SickKids can do for a child in crisis. After being hit by a car as a kid, Todd spent nearly two years in the hospital with a compound fractured femur and months in traction/in their rehabilitation center. Thanks to their care, he didn’t just walk again but went on to become a track and field athlete.
Today, Todd gives back the best way he knows how: by building packed comedy nights that raise funds for SickKids Foundation. It’s personal and it’s powerful.
SickKids has been a pillar of pediatric care since 1875. It’s now recognized globally as one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals, home to over 200 research labs and known for breakthroughs in everything from childhood cancer to rare genetic conditions. Through comedy, community, and sold-out shows, we’re proud to help support the life-saving work they do.
